Talent Tour – Procedure and Repertoire

Find out more about the procedure and repertoire of our Talent Tour.

The Baltic Sea Philharmonic Talent Tour will be held in a single solo round – an individual pre-audition – and an audition as a joint rehearsal with the entire orchestra. Come and play your favourite piece for us and experience a full orchestra rehearsal under the baton of Kristjan Järvi.

First round: solo piece of your choice

The repertoire for the first round is a solo piece of your own choice that is 5 to 10 minutes long. We won’t provide a pianist; however, accompanied pieces or concerto movements can be performed solo.

In addition, we may request a short excerpt from our tour repertoire, which will be sent out with the invitations.

Applicants will audition individually in front of a panel of Baltic Sea Philharmonic principal musicians and Founding Conductor and Music Director Kristjan Järvi.

Second round: joint orchestra rehearsal

When the schedule permits it, musicians who successfully complete the first round will be invited to play in a joint orchestra rehearsal with the Baltic Sea Philharmonic.

The Baltic Sea Philharmonic Talent Tour dates are held as open auditions. All interested musicians are therefore invited to listen to the first-round auditions and joint orchestra rehearsals, even if they themselves are not auditioning.
